Graham Herbert

Graham Herbert’s work captures the moods and shifting scenes here on the West Coast which is his home.  His canvases are changed with the spirituality which emanates where land meets ocean, earth meets sky, stone meets water.  His paintings invite the spectator in with their warm tones and vivid depiction of natural beauty. 

The gentle power of Graham’s work has been distilled out of his many years of landscape painting and exploration of the Pacific Coast, and sustained by his life on Hornby Island.

Graham was born in 1947 and studied art at the Emily Carr College of Art and the University of Calgary.  His work has been presented in 17 one-man shows and can be found in countless private and dozens of corporate collections, as well in galleries.  Graham’s paintings have also been featured on magazine and book covers and have been the subject of television and magazine articles.  He has participated in many environmental group art projects, such as the Western Canada Wilderness Committee’s Carmanah: Artist Visions of an Ancient Rainforest.
