The British
Columbia Archives holds
hundreds of art works by Emily Carr. Most date from the early phase of
her career and many are preliminary sketches done in the field, either
at Native villages, beside totem poles or amid the forests. Paintings
in the collection are loaned for exhibitions worldwide.
